Interacting topological quantum chemistry of Mott atomic limits

چکیده
Topological quantum chemistry (TQC) is a successful framework for identifying noninteracting topological materials, based on the symmetry analysis of Bloch Hamiltonian and reference states known as atomic limits. However, TQC grinds to halt once interactions are included. Here, authors put forward analogous TQC, but employing $n$-particle Green's function techniques indicate topology in interacting systems. Fundamentally, they define class that generalize notion limits, which call Mott The protected states.

Quantum quench of an atomic Mott insulator.
We study quenches across the Bose-Hubbard Mott-insulator-to-superfluid quantum phase transition by using an ultracold atomic gas trapped in an optical lattice. Quenching from the Mott insulator to the superfluid phase is accomplished by continuously tuning the ratio of Hubbard tunneling to interaction energy. Excitations of the condensate formed after the quench are measured by using time-of-fl...

We give a brief overview on interacting symmetry-protected topological (SPT) phases. In particular, we will focus on various cases where the classification of non-interacting fermionic systems breaks down in the presence of interactions. The examples include topological (and trivial) superconductors in one, two and three spatial dimensions, protected by various symmetries such as time-reversal,...
متن کاملTopological Mott insulators.
We consider extended Hubbard models with repulsive interactions on a honeycomb lattice, and the transitions from the semimetal to Mott insulating phases at half-filling. Because of the frustrated nature of the second-neighbor interactions, topological Mott phases displaying the quantum Hall and the quantum spin Hall effects are found for spinless and spin fermion models, respectively. The mean-...

متن کاملInteracting anyons in topological quantum liquids: the golden chain.
We discuss generalizations of quantum spin Hamiltonians using anyonic degrees of freedom. The simplest model for interacting anyons energetically favors neighboring anyons to fuse into the trivial ("identity") channel, similar to the quantum Heisenberg model favoring neighboring spins to form spin singlets. Numerical simulations of a chain of Fibonacci anyons show that the model is critical wit...
